Excuse me if this question has been covered, but I couldn't find it if it has.
I have a 8 volume series of which 1 volume has several singers. All the other volumes in the series are sung by one singer and play sequentially (1,2,3 etc) through the track numbers. However, in the volume with several singers, the volume does not play sequentially, but by groups of singers, in this case 4-20 (singer A), followed by 1-3 (singer B). How can I get MusicBee to play through this volume sequentially, please? I note that if the volume had its own folder, I could force it to follow the track order from track 1, but as it is only one volume in a series, I can't get this to happen. Thanks for any help....

Check if "Album Artist" is set to the same value e.g. "Various Artist" instead of multiple names

Thanks, but 'Album artist' has nothing in it, in any of the tracks (I actually never use this field). I'm a little confused as to why artists (if there are several in the same album) would override numerical track sequence.

If there are different <artists> in the same album and you do not have something like "Various Artists" in the <album artist> tag, MB treats each <artist> as if it were the <album artist>. Therefore with multiple pseudo-<album artists> MB sees them as different albums. Try selecting all the tracks in the problem album and add "Various Artists" or something else that you like, in the <album artist> field and you'll see the difference.

You should also go to Edit Preferences > Sorting/Grouping > Grouping > and define what MB considers an album.

Eureka, probelm solved! I put 'Various Artists' into the Album Artist field, as you both suggested.
Thank you both very much, gentlemen, for your time & kind help.
