Hi, I started using MusicBee and I have this problem  :'(

These are .m4a files purchased from iTunes Store. They all contain the ITUNESADVISORY tag (with three possible values: 0, 1 or 2).

The rtng tag is what I'm trying to show in the custom tag ITUNESADVISORY:

But as you can see in the first screenshot it shows empty. Instead, the rtng tag is showing in the default Rating tag.

As you can see the files with a rtng value of 1 show a star and the songs with a rtng value of 0 show a bomb.

That's wrong, I think Musicbee is confusing RATE with RATING. How can I solve this?

mb does treat rtng as rating. Can you send me a link to a file with a value populated and also the iTunes.xml file

mb does treat rtng as rating
rtng in itunes is not the same as the star ratings in MB
rtng tag is content rating with 3 possible values:
0 = none
2 = clean
4 = explicit

itunes doesn't save star ratings to any tag, only to the database.
there are some apps that can save the star ratings to an unused/custom tag.

This version recognises rtng in the custom tag definition. You should use ITUNESADVISORY in the id3 tag field
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee34_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

@Steve thanks! Now it recognizes the rtng tag:

But I can't modify it from MusicBee. I mean, I can, but it doesn't change neither in iTunes or Mp3tag. But if I change it directly in Mp3tag, it recognizes it correctly both in iTunes and MusicBee.

Appears this info is now out-of-date.
From mp3tag mapping

ITUNESADVISORY
Content rating, use 0 = None, 1 = Explicit, 2 = Clean

and there is now a rate tag for star ratings

It seems there is a discrepancy with how this  tag is stored as compared to others. If you re-download the same link it should work with mp3tag

@Steven Hey, I'm having the same issues with the COPYRIGHT (cprt) iTunes tag. Looks like MusicBee confuses it with the default COPYRIGHT tag, not recognizing it and/or overlapping it.

Also, the iTunes tags AKID, ATID, CNID, GEID, PLID, etc.. appear blank in MusicBee (Mp3Tag reads them correctly).

It would be great if MusicBee reads those tags too  8)

Just to let you know, this will more than likely need to be moved to a separate thread on the Wishlist board, or you can create your own topic.
