Invalid Picture error/Image inconsistencies

I googled and found a couple threads about this but no solution. I have everything set by Album Artist, Musicbee will automatically pull an image for the song with like 98% accuracy just fine most of the time. The Album image itself will either pull itself from the internet or from the folder from what I've noticed. Since I have it sorted by Album Artist, it will sometimes have a general image of the band/artist or just an image of a random album by that band.

How do I customize this feature? Like if I want a general photo of Bonnie Tyler instead of the album photo to be here: http://puu.sh/J2fMZ/e1567de688.jpg how do I customize it? If I right click and click paste picture, I get the error message below

I'm on version 3.4.8033.

Steps:

1. Right click ANY image of ANY size of ANY filetype ANYWHERE(desktop or online), click copy
2. Right click the empty picture box in musicbee and select paste in the left hand menu. OR go to the MUSIC EXPLORER tab, click the empty artist picture field and paste there
3. Receive error in both locations

The behavior I expect and is implied from the option being there is I can put any image I want there. Instead what I have to do is highlight the entire album, right click edit, click paste in the picture box in the tags section, embed into music files. Only then will I get a picture, but again I just want to have a general image especially if I have multiple albums of an artist. Some artists have a general image that got automatically put there somehow but I dont see where to see how it got there. There's also no option to upload an artist image by hand there anyway unlike everywhere else.

General Issues
The images are inconsistent in general.

Is there just a option I tick somewhere? I know I wrote a lot here but I want it to be very clear what my issues are, and what I've already tried. Are my tags somehow screwed up? Before I even open musicbee I go through the album with mp3tag but the images I dont append through there as it doesnt make a difference, I've checked files with and without images and MB will be inconsistent anyways.

there is no point reporting issues using a very old MB version. You can update the version using the installer from the downloads page without losing any thing in your library

I updated that line, I'm on the newest version now, still having the same issue. Error Log doesn't show anything involving all my image shenanigans.

for the general issues of inconsistent artwork, i suggest resetting the cache using Tools/ Advanced/ Reset Cache

for the issue of not being able to copy/ paste external pictures, do they paste into other apps such as paint.net ?

Same problem. Copy and Paste works only in Artist View in Main Panel (Paste Artist Picture). Version 3.5.8150 P.

Resetting the cache didn't do MUCH, there are a few random album covers that either changed, got added or were removed, no more than a very very tiny handful among hundreds.

The copy paste, they do paste elsewhere. Paint.net, regular paint, discord, etc all work with no issues so they are going into the clipboard properly. I CAN paste them here: http://puu.sh/J2vLx/9ade88c1f8.jpg to create an album image, though as you can see its already pulling an image from either the folder or elsewhere just not appending it properly.

I want to make sure the language being used here doesn't get mixed up. I believe Roby is referring to this: https://puu.sh/J2vOq/648b2cf5f9.jpg where he says it works for him, but possibly nowhere else, Robys interaction is the complete opposite of mine.

check the configured artwork retrieval filters in Preferences/ Tags(1)/ artwork and also Rescan your artwork in that dialog

I don't see an option to rescan, and to be honest I don't know what to do with these filters to begin with. It's all default: http://puu.sh/J2z23/6faf758c7d.png

Though what catches my eye is the artist picture location and soundtrack location. They are defaulted to the main Musicbee folder which I see now does have a photo folder with 1 singular random artist jpeg in there but in fact their file path is invalid as it has my old name from my older PC, so it actually leads nowhere.

I changed the file paths to my actual music folder where everything is located and it totally fixed it! I watched as slowly but surely Musicbee seems to have the info it needed and started pulling general pictures of the artists for the artist photos, and whatever didn't load or I wanted changed, the copy paste worked! No more invalid picture error! Thank you so much!!

can you be specific which paste command/ where it failed and how you sourced the image into the clipboard
