MusicBee is, in my view, the world's best music player and organizer. Thanks to Steven and other contributors for such a wonderful tool.

Edit Preferences > Monitored Folders allows the user to specify folders that are monitored for the purposes of adding their contents to the Library.

Some users have an organization method where only certain folders, as specified in the Monitored Folders, should be in the Library.

The problem for those users is, even if a folder is removed from "Monitored Folders", the Library continues to include the files from the folders removed from "Monitored Folders." There does not seem to be a straightforward way to force the Library to simply remain synced to the files in the Monitored Folders, and only those.

It has been suggested that the user can display "Path" and manually remove files, but for certain workflow use cases, it is too tedious and time consuming to have to manually do this.

Is it possible to force MusicBee to synchronize the Library to only those files included in the current Monitored Folders, removing any Library items associated with folders removed from Monitored Folders?

There's not a single-step way, but if it's something you do regularly, you might find using an auto playlist a little faster.

Use a rule like "path is not" and insert the monitored folder paths. Then you can delete anything in the playlist from your library (be sure it's removed from the library and not just the playlist). Adjust paths as needed.

And/or you could save the auto playlist with  a custom view sorted by path. Then you wouldn't have to mess with your maln library to get it sorted by path.

Thank you very much for your swift and thorough reply.

Your suggestion provides a very elegant and straightforward solution, which will help in the immediate term.

(For the long run, it would be helpful if MusicBee offered an optional mode which did this automatically based on the selected Monitored Folders, for users who don't want to manually perform the suggested processing repeatedly.)
