Playlist for NAS (Synology)

Hi,
I have been trying to create a playlist for my NAS device without success. I think I need to make the playlist relational but I am not quite sure how to achieve this. 
Could I map the NAS music drive and ceate the playlist from there and expect it to work or do I need toi adjust the playlist after aI have created it and,if so,how?
