When I RIP a CD with MusicBee, it doesn't seem to observe the speed setting in the source settings. Right now I have mine set to 4X, and it's ripping at 14X. I usually prefer to not run the drive at maximum speed, just to give the hardware and encoder a little breathing room.

Am I missing something? How do I get the speed setting to stick?

Thanks in advance.

Knowing I don't answer your question but instead on focusing on something as useless as ripping speed, why don't you focus on things that do matter?
Either your rip is bit perfect or it isn't.
That is what counts,.

If running the drive at maximum speed increases errors, then throttling it back is not useless.
