Now the syncing isn't working.  Spent an hour to sync one playlist that should have only took 5 mins.  I"m frustrated.   I synced my phone last night so it will have more playlists and then today when i was in a hurry to use my phone and music then none of those playlist including my Christmas playlist was on the phone. I rebooted several times.  and everytime i try to sync some more i get an error message and have to unplug the phone and restart the program on the computer.  this is really annoying.  is there not a way to resync without doing this?  I still don't have the stuff on my phone.  the program shows it synced it but even in explorer on my phone i can't find the playlists so it's as if they never make it to my phone.  I would hope i can listen to my christmas playlists when I'm out of the house before christmas is over.

I tried updating to the newest Musicbee update on the computer and syncing and it still shows successfully completed but still don't' show up on my phone.  Can someone please please help me?  If only the Wifi Sync still worked.  it was more reliable and faster.

It sounds to me like you haven't ticked the playlist in the device settings.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

I have the playlists selected.  I triple checked and quadruple checked.,  But i see all the playlists get synced in the sync window but on the phone nothing shows up in the file explorer or in Poweramp.  it worked awhile back after i reset my phone and had to sync everything back.  But now I need to do more syncing as i hadn't got done yet.

is there some way i can resync without getting the error message and have to disconnect and reconnect the phone and close out the program and reopen it?  It's a pain.

well i waited several days for a solution.  I just tried again and none of my newly synced playlists shows up on the phone.  I guess I won't get to listen to christmas music on my phone this year.  I like my own playlists not the stupid ones on streaming.  I guess I will have to make my own playlists on YT Music but i want to use my mp3 collection.   I've always worried that someday I will be screwed and can't get my music back on my phone.  Musicbee says it was Copied.  but on my phone there's no christian music playlists or christmas playlists.  i synced at least 10 playlists but nothing shows up. Just looked and the some of mp3's i looked at are on the phone but not the playlists they go to.  Does Android 12 require a different playlist setting for sync?

I've happily been using SMBSync2 for a number of months after Cheetah Sync stopped working. It's free with no ads. I don't use it to sync music as MB does that for me. But it can do it. It will sync in either direction. There's a bit of a learning curve, but you should be able to figure it out. Feel free to PM me if you have questions. You might get lucky and I'll know the answer.  :-)

I installed media monkey last night.  and it's confusing figuring the sync out.  I can't see a way to select which playlists to sync.  it just syncs all of them. which isn't good because if i use it on my tablet it will run out of storage space for sure.   And then windows did an update and restarted and then it took a few hours of trying to get the app to reconnect to the program again.  the program kept saying it was disconnected or something like that.  finally got it working and got the playlists synced.  it put them in a different playlist folder so i have duplicates now.  I just don't know what to do next time the app doesn't want to connect to the program on the computer again.  I even closed the program out and reopened it a bunch of times.  when i woke up from my nap it was connected again.   bad thing about media monkey is it costs money for a bunch of features I don't have much money as it is.  Plus the app costs money on top of that.

you mention a specialist syncing app.  is there another app that would work with musicbee?

I use Cheetah Sync to sync photos to my phone and tablet.  it still works to sync from the computer to the devices.  Been looking for an alternative that's easy to use.  haven't tried SMBSync2.   does that one work with Musicbee?

I used Cheetah Sync previously, although not with MB, but I don't see why I wouldn't work. You have it. You know how to use it. So try it out.

As for SMBSync2, again - I have no need to use it with MB, but I see no reason why it won't work to sync music files and playlists between a PC and the device.

The only issue I can see with both programs is that you'll have to make sure the music files referenced in the playlists are included in the music file sync since a playlist is nothing more than a text file. The playlist by itself does not know which music files to transfer. Which is why MB (or as Steven mentioned) Media Monkey are the preferred methods. If all you were doing was syncing your music files, both Cheetah and SMBSync would suffice.

yeah i mostly use playlists.  So I wouldn't know how to copy them manually or without the music player doing it.  I have a lot of playlists.  But if i use Media Monkey I have to use it for everything right?  Like the library won't stay in sync with Musicbee's right?

Correct. But then again, you'll be able to sync to your device.

I saw that you mentioned Android 12, Is that what's on your device? Search the forum as I recall there are some things Google put in A12 that MB can't handle.

The two libraries won't stay in sync, but it shouldn't matter unless you want to use MediaMonkey on your computer.  You can use MB as normal, set MB to export your playlists, and then not use MediaMonkey for any other reason than setting it to sync those exported playlists to your device.  If it doesn't touch your files except to sync them, it shouldn't mess anything up on MB's end.

If you try to sync playlists and music files with a simple direct sync tool, it'll send both to the device, but the file references in the playlists will be to the files as they exist on your computer, not your phone.  That's the advantage of using a music sync program to do it - it knows to change the playlist references to the music files in the location it has copied those files to on your phone.  A file sync tool, to my knowledge, won't rewrite the playlists in this way.

The issues with Android 12 prevent the wifi sync tool from accessing local storage and, as far as I know, wouldn't have anything to do with wired sync.  I could be wrong, but that's my understanding.

Yes I have a Galaxy S21 on Android 12.   Poweramp just got updated because of Android 12 so i wonder if Musicbee Wifi app can be updated as well.  I can select folders with Poweramp.
