its using a non-standard tag. I have added read support for the field but when saving MB will write to the standard tag
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee34_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

you are amazing! thanks so much. Just one more question: i am using the portable version of MB. are the files you sent me suitable for the portable version? shall i just replace the file/folders in the portable device?

Yes, patch fixes that Steven issues are good for the Installer version and the Portable version. There are no patch fixes for the Store version.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

MB is showing a rating of 1,5 star here.
Is that wrong?

yes, it is meant to be 2 stars (it was saved as 2 stars that way in tag&rename)

Seems like some file corruption to me. When I load your file into Tag&Rename, clear the rating, and then set it to two stars again, MusicBee also sees two stars.

Weird, I did some further testing and I noticed your file had a POPM value of 78.
When I set the value to 70, MB shows 3,5 stars.
When I set the value to 80, MB shows 4 stars.
But using a value from 71 to 79 indeed results in 1,5 stars.

There is probably some logic behind that for the sake of compatibility with other software, but it looks a bit strange.

i was writing while you typed your last reply.

In noticed that i don't even need to remove and reset the rating tags, it's enough that i make any change to any tag and the problem appears solved.

As a guess those ratings were probably originally not written by Tag&Rename but by other software that is not fully compatible with MusicBee's rating system.
