Asking because the remote plugin was detected as a virus... maybe this was a false positive?

Probably.

Run the .dll though virustotal.com and report back.

FWIW, I can't recall any plugins being reported as virus issues in the more than ten years of using MB.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

I did and only 5 out of 69 reported a problem. Also, its a exe.

So far I'm not having any issues. Whats weird is when I scan the file with my AV it says its safe, only when I execute it does it say it might be a virus.

What AV software are you using? Avast is notorious for throwing false positives for MB and some of its components.

You should probably report it on the plugin's thread so the developer is made aware of it.

Trend Micro. Already reported it. Also, not the first time I come across something like this with this AV.
