Hi guys and gals,

The Stubborn Issue :c
Opening preferences for the first time and works as intended, can go through the menu and make changes, save apply cancel etc is fine.
The second time I open preferences (of the same instance) it then no longer lets me click through or do anything and have to force quit
Here's a streamable of what I mean
https://streamable.com/o0ys2m

Things I've tried to do to remedy this;
Complete clean reinstall of musicbee including temp/plugins etc.
Removed all music, lessened music, added music
Googling and using search
Whitelisted on Malwarebytes and turning it off entirely.
Run as admin. Installed portable on C:/

Hardware/Software Stats
5600x 3080, B550 VISION D
E30 + Atom + HD6XX
MB Installer Version: 3.4.7764
Installed C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBee. As the only admin account on my PC.
Malwarebytes
Windows 10 Pro - 19041

Streamable once again!

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Thank you!

First, uninstall and do a re-install of the PORTABLE version of MusicBee 3.4x, installed to a non-Windows system folder, like C:\MusicBee, to avoid permissions issues.

Second, whitelist the above folder in any antivirus program you are using.

Now what happens?

My computer stats if it's somehow a CPU thing.
5600x 3080,
E30 + Atom + HD6XX
For future reference, it is more important for us to know what version of MB you're using and how it was installed, rather than the specs of your PC.
What version of MB are you using? (Help > About)
How was MB installed? (Store, Installer, Portable)
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Understood,
B550 VISION D
MB Installer Version from site: 3.4.7764
Installed C:\Program Files (x86)\MusicBee. As the only admin account on my PC.

I've tried running as admin mode, no difference. Whitelisting has no difference.
Installed Portable version too, installed to C:\MusicBee, whitelisted, ran as admin also no difference.

Any other suggestions? And thank you so much for the help!

By "ran as admin" do you mean you right-clicked MusicBee.exe and chose "Run as Administrator" in the context menu?  DON'T do that, just open it normally.

Truly bizarre. Unfortunately I don't have any ideas what the cause might be or any suggestions

Are there pre-reqs? frameworks etc? ><
I am using a multimonitor setup. Should/would that affect?
I can't think of much more details that could help ><

Perhaps run Microsoft's .net repair tool?
If you disconnect other monitors except your main one, restart Windows and check it's display settings to be correct, does it still happen?
Are you using any 3rd party software that manages desktop/monitor/windows panels features?

I use https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/ to manage window snapping for productivity, displayfusion to manage taskbar, neither of which I'm ready to give up for Musicbee but I'll disable it for testing though. Will report back!

Edit, tried repair tool, restarted no fix.
unplugged and made one monitor setup, no fix
closed both apps, no fix

I'm pretty much out of ideas then.
Maybe a plugin causing an issue?
When MB is unresponsive, have you checked Window's task manager to see if that might give any clue?

No plugins at all.
Nothing from task manager either, RAM/CPU/GPU/SSD no spikes.

Thank you so much for your suggestions :)
