I was looking at album ratings in the "sort by album ratings" box shown and suddenly all of my album ratings went away.
Right clicking on each album, it shows every album as unrated now.  :'(

What could I have possibly done to mess up this bad?  Is there some way to undo this damage?  How can I back up this kind of thing in the future?  I feel crushed thinking about losing all of that carefully assigned data.
I thought it was maybe a glitch in the session so I closed the program and went back in and nope, all my ratings are gone.

They are stored in MusicBeeLibrary.mbl, unless you chose to save them in the files themselves (Prefs/Tags(1)/tag storage).

I don't use ratings myself so no idea how they could be lost.  If you chose to store them in the files, check them with Tag Inspector to see if they are still there.  If you make backups of your music collection it would be easy enough to just restore the backup.  The MusicBeeLibrary.mbl file can be copied elsewhere manually or use File->Library->Backup Library.  When you change things MB makes its own backup of the library named MusicBeeLibrary.bak--you could try exiting MB, renaming that file's extension it to *.mbl, and restarting.  First rename the original's extension to something like *.mbl.orig so you can change back if needed.

Try rescanning all your files, and then see if they show up again.

I have the setting checked for Tags(1) -> "store ratings in the music file" but I don't think Album Rating stores that way, just Track Ratings.
If MusicBeeLibrary.mbl is where the Album Ratings get stored then I'll be sure to start backing that file up from now on.  Alas, too bad the data went kaput but at least I can be prepared, going forward.

Now, my next step will be trying to figure out how to show "Albums 3 stars AND UP" instead of the typical view that just lets me see "ALL 3 star albums" ONLY...

Please try Tools->Advanced->Rescan All Files if you haven't already done so.  Also, you didn't indicate if you tried renaming MusicBeeLibrary.bak.

Then you need to update to the latest 3.4 version on the download site, and PLEASE (one more try!) respond to the suggestions in Reply #4 if you are still interested in seeing if this can be fixed.
