I viewed a playlist which removed my now playing list
I then created a new tab for now playing, which produced the error
I closed the playlist (old now playing) and the new tab, closed MusicBee, restarted, created new tab, and error still persists.
I now no longer have my Now Playing list.

I suggest updating to the latest 3.4 patch available from my signature. It's quite possible this has already been addressed.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.
