Steven...

I started a thread in Beyond MusicBee because at first I thought I had Windows issue.
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=34587.0
But now it's looking more like something in MB has gone slightly sideways.

The Error Log is a text file with a .dat extension. If I use a file explorer and go to the Error Log in the AppData directory and double-click it, or right-click > Open (or Open with) the file opens in Notepad++, which is set as my default text editor. Yet when I try to open the Error Log from within MB's Help > Support menu option, it opens in Windows Notepad. As does the other two options under Support.

In my original thread, one other user responded that he's seeing the same behavior. Which points me back to MB as a possible cause.

When you have some time, can you please take a look at this?

Thanks.

Is this relatively new? I seem to remember that it used to open in Notepad++. Although I do admit my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

I assume that since MB opens the Error Log in notepad, it is hard-corded. If I added it to the Wishlist, would you consider changing it so that it would open to the Windows default text editor?

Thanks.

Well, since I've been around since the early days, perhaps that's what I'm remembering.

Thanks for the clarification. And don't look in the wishlist for this. If it didn't work for some people, it may still not work for some. And I know how to use Windows Notepad.  :-)
