Podcast "New Subscription" - what URL format?

What format is the manual podcast entry looking for in a URL? In 8 years as an MB user, I've yet to find a URL that works, whether RSS, XML, iTunes format, etc. If I can't find a podcast in the directory, I'm SOL.
