After you receive clipping warnings, you can adjust the slider as needed per track, and press proceed.
But that requires some effort. You'll need to uncheck all other songs (or they will also get the new values), and you will need to uncheck 'album' when you adjust only one track of an album. (if you want to keep the album values of all tracks of an album completely identical)

To decrease the need for much afterwards adjustments you can do two things:
- disable the clipping warning and don't worry to much about possible clipping distortion
(depending on the music and the severity clipping can be unnoticeable, but it can also be really ugly)
- use a lower default target value for the slider
(I myself am using -3dB for my modern music library and -6db for my classical library)

Ah, thanks for clearing this up again  :D. Yeah my worst one was around -3.8 iirc so I might just apply 4-5db of adjustment for some headroom when I add new tracks.
Thanks!
