Hi there! What I need is a keyboard shortcut to start musicbee.exe. Can't I somehow use the play/pause physical keyboard button?

Hm, it doesn't work. MusicBee 3.3.7261; Win 10; Genesis Rhod 600 keyboard. Nothing happens when I press the play button. It only works when the player is already started.

To me it would be good if Play/Pause would just do what it says.
AHK is great for what I think you are looking for.

you can start any app pinned to a taskbar with win+(1,2,3....0) combination, where win+1 starts the very first app on the taskbar, win+2 the second and so on till 10th (win+0)

After launching MB as HHM says, Control-p will re-start whatever was still playing, like the play button does. Control-P will also pause what is playing. I learned this with Zune and was pleased it worked here as well.
