The Devices wiki states "To use an MTP device (which includes most Android and Windows phones), you must first check "detect MTP devices" at the top of Device Preferences."

The detect MTP devices option is no longer available to tick on the Device Preferences page. How do I get MusicBee to detect my MTP devices? MusicBee won't detect either of my Android phones under Devices or under Computer.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

If the phone wasn't unlocked when you connected, try unlocking it and then restarting MusicBee.

Thanks but that didn't work. Will it be impossible to sync over wifi if I can't first get musicbee to recognize the device and perform a wired sync?

Yes, you do have to be able to connect and at least do a sync preview before wifi sync.

What kind of phone?
