smooth fade when stopping

I want the music to fade away smoothly when I pause. So I checked smooth fade when stopping but the song still stops suddenly.

Is this setting for when the song ends (stops?) or the fade is not noticeable?
Are there any other setting to check or if its the later, can a setting like crossfade, to control the fading time for stopping be added?

The stop fade works just fine for me. It is a very fast fade though, you may not be able to hear the difference if you don't have an acoustically treated room.

It would be a nice option to be able to set the duration of the fade out.

Working just fine for me on pause and stop.

It's only about 500ms, but that's enough to make it a noticeably more pleasing transition than an immediate cut. Even without an acoustically treated room.
