Option to sync vertical tag editor layout between tabs

I imagine it's helpful for some folks, but I have a hard time with the fact that the vertical tag layout isn't updated across all tabs when I change it in one place. I'd like to be able to keep it all the same.

What do you mean by change it? If I add or remove fields to the vertical tag editor in one panel, the same is done for all tabs. Infact there should only be one instance created in the application so I don't how it would even be possible for each tab to have its own configured vertical tag editor.

Strange, mine have always seemed to maintain different fields/layouts per tab. I'll investigate more tonight.

I think it will be due to custom tab views. The settings are maintained independently in each custom view.
I am not sure I agree its the right thing to update other custom views - thats not consistent with the normal behavior, and also what about updating custom views that are not active in one of the tabs

I think you're right - it's the tab layout that's doing it.  In case it wasn't clear, the thing I care about is having the displayed fields be consistent.  The regular tag editor doesn't change fields between layouts, so why would this?
