Author Topic: Option to hide the prefix "Disc " ahead of the stuff in the disc panel  (Read 1255 times)

Hi!

I understand this is a really niche request, and I'm not sure what best way to implement it, but I basically have a lot of albums where the "sections" of the album have names, not discs. Take Rozen's Sins of Hyrule: Creation of Hyrule, Time and Chaos, Era of Twilight and Legacy Enduring are the section names. Also partially live albums usually have names. With the current persistent prefix of "Disc " it's awkward to have to type "A: " or "1: ", etc., for every album.

Thus, one solution would be to have the program 1) guess that it shouldn't prefix with "Disc" if it's a lengthy entry in the disc field, or 2) have an option not to show the prefix at all, or 3) some other ingenious solution for actually writing in these dividing names rather than disc titles.

Thanks for any suggestions or help you may provide :).

Sincerely,
rfyuz.

Howdy!

Have you had a look at this guide? https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=11990.0

I'm not sure where you're seeing "Disc" that it would be hard-coded. Can you provide a screenshot?

That's so smart! I didn't think to write a new virtual tag for this -- thank you for the feedback. I was referring to the <Disc #> tag but of course it would be much smarter to leave that one as-is and not cause confusion, and write a new virtual tag instead.

Thank you so much! That solved my request :).

Glad it helped! I'm still not sure where you were seeing Disc, but no big deal

Disc# field will prepend "Disc" to the disc number when used as a track sub-grouping header in various album views.
Bee excellent to each other...

Ah, I guess I've had a virtual tag for so long I hadn't seen that.
