When I open a Playlist then at the top of the right side the Playlist name appears PLUS prepended Album Cover (which is empty).

How can I permanently and for all Playlists hide/disable the album cover?

Right click at the top of the panel and untick Playlist Header.

[I changed the thread title, because the Playlist Header can appear in any view, not just tracks.]

The the full Playlist header is hidden.

I only want to hide the album cover

You can't hide it, but you can choose a custom picture.
