Hi,

I've recently had to re-install windows. I have backed up the libraries manually. When I installed MusicBee, I've created new library and I put the "existing library" option destination to my backed up library. However, none of my previous settings (Virtual Tags, Organizing Presets, ..etc) were restored.

Why did that happen? And is it possible to get them back?

Thanks

Filters are in <AppData>/Roaming/Filters

Organizing Presets and Virtual Tags are in MusicBee3Settings.ini in the Roaming folder

I don't know what etc is but it's probably in the Roaming folder, too.

You can back up your settings in MB under Edit->Saved Settings so you don't have to copy old installations.

Ugh.. so they are gone, I have to do the Regex all over again...

So is the back up library option different from Saved Settings?

Thanks

If you don't have a backup of your app data folder, probably, sorry. :(

Check out this for more on MusicBee backups:

The simple way to do backup is to make a portable installation and just backup that folder. It will contain all the library and appdata files (unless you move the library folder for some reason). The actual music will still be wherever you normally keep it.
