I am sure there is a thread covering common naming conventions for files & folders.

Any links appreciated.

You could search yourself instead of asking others to search for you.

But this, and just about every other question you asked today is a matter of personal preference. There is no 'convention' on what is right and what is wrong. Find a method that works for you and use it. The main thing is to be consistent.

I understand personal preference comes into this, but I was thinking that some common conventions may have been adapted by the majority.

I did try searching for "common naming conventions", but the only thread that comes up in the search is mine.

Generally, most people just name their files in the way that benefits their own process.
