WASAPI Exclusive Volume Level

My volume level when using WASAPI Shared and DirectSound are the same.

However, when switching to WASAPI Exclusive, keeping all other MB and Windows volume settings the same, the volume level drops substantially, so much it is below listening level.

Also, all 3 output modes can be controlled by the Windows volume control.

Is this expected behavior?

Direct Sound= WASAPI shared so correct

No, never experienced this.

3 output modes can be controlled by the Windows volume control.

If you are using USB, the answer is yes because UAC (USB Audio) features volume control regardless of the protocol used.
