If AutoDJ is selected but no filters are applied, are the selections the same as Shuffle?

In what sense? The selections should be random, but you won't see the whole library in the list at once (unless you set it to load that many tracks, which kind of defeats the purpose of auto dj).

What is the purpose of AutoDJ?

It allows shuffling your library without loading the whole thing into the playing tracks list at once. It also allows you to use some features that regular shuffle doesn't have, like the "select by" setting under selection mode, gap before artist can repeat, and last.fm similarity.

Is there any problem with shuffling the entire library? I have over 16k tracks and there doesn't seem to be any issue.
