Hello,
Is there a custom tag or virtual tag that would store the key (example: A major or A minor) that a song is in?

Thank you in advance.

  • Now with FiiO M11!
Check the Wiki. You would create a custom tag for that.

Thank you so much for the reply.

I found a great portable song key tagging tool at http://www.ibrahimshaath.co.uk/keyfinder/

I really like https://getsongkey.com/mixing as there's a tool for finding tracks to mix together having a relative, subdominant or dominant Key. Really helps with my DJ sets. It's also possible to search by Music Key, Traktor's Open Key notation or the Camelot Wheel by Mixed in Key.

Hello,
How could I find the song key ?
The reply immediately before yours has a link.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

https://tunebat.com is a good song key resource also. You can look up an artist, an album title, or song name. If you do a search and nothing is found, they have a tool that scans your audio files you upload and will give you BPM and the song key.
