HELP! Basic Transition Plan from iTunes to MB

Hello anyone who can help me:
I am aspiring to move my large and meticulously organized music collection from my local iMac to Google Drive and then import portions of it to MB on a PC laptop.  Will this work?  What needs to travel with the music so the playlists and metadata make the trip?  I am not a computer-savvy person, so please tell me if better ideas are out there to transition myself fully away from Apple.  Thank you!
