Steven, I know that you plan to add support for videos in MB, but there is one idea about this that you may implement very easily.

1. Could you allow to add to MB library files of *any* type? Of course, if someone adds *folder* then only supported file types should be imported. And of course, all tags can be stored only in MB cache for unsupported types.

2. For unsupported file types 'play now' action must use external player automatically.

P.S. I guess that this small improvement may be useful not only for videos, but in many other scenarios also. In fact after implementing this request no other media file organizer except for MB will be needed.

P.P.S. This is not very important for me, but still may be useful: may be MB can launch one of several external players depending upon file type?

i had considered doing such a thing already but then i thought it would be a wasted effort if i properly support videos. However given the bass video developer has stalled development for the moment, it might be some time now before its ready so i might revisit this (but still not for some time as i have many other things outstanding)

Steven, as I said this feature may be useful for many purposes: unsupported audios and videos, photos or even e-books (MB supports multiple libraries, so it will not result in a mess). May be something else. I suppose that implementing this is not very difficult, but may give MB almost infinite power.

I would also like this feature, but in due time. I know some people here would not like this being added. Perhaps this should be an option for those who would like MB not to ignore other file types.

Maleko12, you are quite right. One can accidentally import unsupported files. And I think that there is not only should be an option in preferences, but MB must ask once what to do with unsupported files if it encounters one during import operation even if import of unsupported files is enabled.

EDIT:
One more idea is to leave 'play with external application' function as is, but for unsupported files just to use windows files association for 'play now' function.
