When I restart MusicBee (version 3.3.7199) and start the music, the volume jumps to zero. This happens every time I restart, but sometimes during playback the volume control jumps to zero.

I can't explain this to myself and can't find an error anywhere.

Well you have been using musicbee for a long time and this is the first time you or anyone else has reported this.
Certainly nothing has changed on the musicbee side if its recently started happening. You could try using the release on the downloads page to see if it makes any difference.
I am not planning to spend time looking at this issue unless its firmly established its the result of a newer MB version

The same thing has been happening to me, for the past couple of weeks, and I finally decided to research it, but without much success. I don't want to re-install MB, because I have lots of playlists that would get reset. (V.3.3.7261)

Reinstalling MusicBee shouldn't mess with your playlists, but you can always make backups just in case. See Backup & Restore on the wiki
