Hi, maybe it's simple, but I don't know how. Maybe you can Help. I created an autoplaylist, which is permanently feeded with new imported songs. I want Musicbee sort this list this way: 1.) songs which are imported last and 2.) songs with last played date sort ascending. With Mediamonkey it was easy create such a list. But with Musicbee, I don't know how.

As long as you are showing the fields you want to sort in "Set Displayed Fields", then it should be a simple matter of clicking on the heading to sort in the order you prefer, and just click again to reverse the order.

Be aware that if you sort on "Last played" its quite likely to contradict the "Recently Added" sorting, in that case it may be better to have a separate auto-playlist for each option, you just need to experiment to see what's best for you.

Hi, Freddy.
In Mediamonkey it's working flawless. It lists recently added as first and then it sorts the other songs by Last played. It's a good function, but not a must have. Musicbee has other great playlist functions, which the Monkey doesn't have.

I did use MM for a while when I got sick of i-Toons, and it was ok, but MB is next level.

I'm sure your sorting preference is also possible in MB, but I'm not at my PC right now to be able to figure it out, and I'm too old to recall from memory how to...
I may have a play tommorow and try myself and get back to you, unless another poster beats me to it!

If a song hasn't been played, you want it sorted by date added, and after all of those you want the rest sorted by last played date?

I think you could do something with a virtual tag for this. If I've got the right idea, I'll have a play around with it.

I had a go as per your spec, but no joy, at least for me. I think MM uses some sort of SQL builder to get to where you want.
I have a similar and working ok thing going on with MB but uses two simple Auto-playlists, one "LAST 250 ADDED" and one, LAST 250 PLAYED.
Just click on the column headers to flip the sort order from descending or ascending etc.. simples!

Yes. Mediamonkey is good, but it's a little bit outdated. And that's no reason, turn back to it. Musicbee has a better audioengine and playlist handling and GonemadPlayer has also a better audioquality, than Mediamonkey for Android.

Thanks. But it's ok, when it's not possible.

Yeah!, MM is rather stuck in the Winamp era, plus I had to pay for an upgrade in order to be able to use Replay Gain.

We're never going to get anything better than MB, and I doubt anything else comes close to the customisable 'Theatre Mode', that I use all the time.
Also, not seen any other Media Player with anything like a 'Playlist-Mixer', talking of which, may be a solution to your sorting issues!

Have fun experimenting, regards: Freddy

If it's what I described, I think it is possible, just want to be sure i understand first.

Yes, I think u understand right. But I will explain more exactly. I have a autoplaylist, based on manual playlist, which I permanently continue with new imported songs.

Song A: new imported, never played
Song B: last played 06-13-18
Song C: last played 03-01-19

It should appear/played and synced to my Android in following order: A>B>C. After play it should be: B>C>A
So, that newest songs are always high priority, longer not played songs as next and songs which has newer playdate as last.

What you need to do is set up a custom sort order. Go to your playlist and right click on the header bar above the tracks. Hover over Sort By and click on Define Custom Sorting. Click on the first custom sort slot and it will bring up sort options. Don't forget to click Save so you don't lose your work. From there, you can resort your tracks to your preferred order at any time.

Sorry, I've had a very distracting week. But this virtual tag works for me to sort it the way you describe:

Code
$If(<Play Count>=0,0000-00-00,$Date(<Last Played>,yyyy-MM-dd))

Thanks. Will try, when I find time. I'm also busy at the moment.

Not exactly what I want, but I now know much more of sorting. Thanks ;)
