When I creat an auto playlist sourced from folders, I can't sort music in the playlist by draging them. As shown in the picture, the music stay still after I release the left mouse button. Hoping to fix this bug. Thanks.

Thanks for reply.
In foorbar2000 or AIMP, similar feature is supported. Auto-playlist sourced from folders can be sorted freely. When a new music file is copied to the folder, it will appear at the bottom of the playlist. It won't change the custom order of above music. So there aren't any logical problems to realize the function.
In addition, as shown in the gif, the tip next to the mouse when dragging music isn't kind of prohibitory sign showing dragging isn't surported here. So I think it's more like a bug but not an unsurpported feature.
Auto-playlist sourced from folders is very easy for users who are used to organise and sort music files into diffrerent folders manually, like me. And sorting freely helps a lot to find music conveniently.

My English is not very good. Hope to add this feature in following releases.

I can't see why you would mess around with the contents of an auto--playist where the tracks are selected and ordered according to your set of rules. If you then start fiddling about adding or moving stuff around manually, that would indicate to me that using an non auto-playlist would better suit your needs, or is that just me being aged  :(

For example, I want to put songs of certain language to a playlist and put these files to a folder. I should add these songs to library and put same tags on them, and organise these files in musicbee instead of file manager. But when I filter these songs by tag, I can't sort them freely. I just want to customize the order of songs of same language in a list. Only tags such as album or artist aren't enough.
Why auto-playlist? Because it's easy. I don't need to add songs to auto-playlist manually. So does deleting songs. I only need to put or delete files of same kind of songs in a folder, and auto-playlist can automatically show all songs in the folder. It's not more troublesome than using library, and this method provides almost all common features of using library. It can also avoid adding personal custom tags to music files.

Sounds like a nightmare scenario.
For simplistic sake, how about an auto-playlist that selects all those tracks for any given language, for example, use an empty tag like Grouping and add the language 'Grouping contains English' etc. pertaining to each and as many playlists required?
Unless you're tying to sort tracks from a huge number of different languages, then that could get a bit messy too!
There's probably a real easy way to do what you want, but not one that I'm aware of, sorry I cant help.

Thanks anyway.
As posted at #2, in foorbar2000 or AIMP, music in auto-playlist can be dragged to sort freely. But I also need excellent features of musicbee such as exporting m3u files for my android devices to sync my playlist.
I may have been used to online music software, such as 163 music or qq music in China, while you may use apple music. But music copyright is divided terribly by online providers in China. These softwares allow users to creat playlists in their account with music in the cloud, so as to sync to any Internet devices. And music in these playlist can be sorted freely.

Interestingly enough, in my Now Playing play list, I can reorder songs by dragging and dropping them.  I actually never knew this was possible and never even tried.  I believe this is a valid point and could be considered a bug.  The application gives the impression that you are able to drag and drop items with the mouse course change.  In my Now Playing view, I see this same drag and drop cursor change, but here it works perfectly.

Auto-playlists are automatically generated. That is their nature and their purpose. It is natural and correct that you would not be able to manually alter them, hence "auto."  If they need to be sorted in a way that is different, set them up to be sorted that way and they will automatically be sorted that way.

If you wish to manually sort the results of an auto-playlist, save those results to a manual playlist and sort them from there.

Now Playing is a queue.  It is natural that you would be able to manipulate it.

Okay -- so the bug is the auto playlist giving the user the impression that it may be modified when it cannot be at all.

This post by @frankz was the best explanation of why your issue isn't a bug, and not part of an auto-playlist function in MusicBee, despite the ability to re-order tracks being available in other Media Players..
Even if you requested said functionality in a MB Wishlist request, I doubt it would get implemented as it defies logic for an auto playlist!.

Freddy

I am actually not following this post.  The initial image in the original post illustrates this quite clearly.  It has been stated that MusicBee is functioning per design with not allowing auto playlist to be reordered.  That is fine, but then why in the world is the application giving the impression that we are able to reorder?  This is the bug that I refer to.  This should be a rather simply change to stop changing the cursor when attempting to re-order music when it is not allowed.  Is this clear now?

It has been stated that MusicBee is functioning per design with not allowing auto playlist to be reordered.  That is fine, but then why in the world is the application giving the impression that we are able to reorder?

So the question you have raised can now be narrowed-down to either one of the following:

A.
When you decided to use an auto-playlist, and don't remember, or have a lack of understanding of what an auto-playlist is, you want MusicBee to warn you when you want to alter the sequence that you have trusted the auto-playlist with.

B.
You want to be able to manually overrule the sequence that you have entrusted the auto-playlist with.

So it looks like this will carry us beyond 'Questions' now.
A next step could be to formulate a request for either A. or B. on the wishlist board?

There is a display bug that gives the impression files can be re-ordered when dragging a file. Its already been fixed in the latest v3.3 patch version.
To be clear, re-ordering files in auto-playlists is not supported ie. only column or defined sorting is supported
