This was raised as an issue by someone but i cant find the original post. Currently if you have your organised artwork set to for example "Cover.jpg" then MB will convert Cover.png to Cover.jpg when saving files.
For v3.4, you can set your organised artwork to use a wildcard eg. "Cover.*"
So the original picture filename extension is preserved
