MB is a darn good product... but just one request:

An option to prevent all cover art displays would be v. useful.

You don't see that requested too often!  What happens when you go to Prefs/Tags(1)/Artwork Storage, hit the Edit List button under "set which images are displayed," and un-check every option followed by hitting Rescan Artwork and save?

You can also just remove any panels that display cover art, and use track details in the main panel. The only place I can think of that you wouldn't be able to hide the cover art would be the windows taskbar popup.

The only place I can think of that you wouldn't be able to hide the cover art would be the windows taskbar popup.

Preferences > Layout (2) > uncheck "show playing track details in the taskbar popup window"
