When in video view (the equivalent of Album Covers for videos), there is no option to sort by other tags (it defaults to Title).
Moreover, the choice of tags in "Group by" is limited (I would like for example group by year).

The video support is really limited. I don't understand why it the views act differently to the music.
There is no Group by, no Sort by and a couple of other bug. Why tagging a video should be different than tagging a song? (besides only storing the data on the Musicbee database)

Because MB is a MUSIC manager and MUSIC player. Video support is/was a minimal after-thought and probably won't be enhanced further.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

I am not asking for full video support. I understand that the main focus of Musicbee is the music.

I don't know the implementation details of the tags, but, as I said earlier, I don't see why tagging a video should be any different than tagging a song, and also why the "Video" view (equivalent to the "Album and Tracks" view) should behave any differently.

If there is an implementation limitation, I would love to hear it.
