Since the Windows Fall Update, MusicBee will not start for Avast/ AVG users. Additionally some users have reported Avast causing MusicBee to stutter during playback.
To address the issue you can do the following:
- uninstall Avast and replace it with more reliable security software
- if you wish to keep using Avast then reporting the issue on the Avast forum might prod them to do something about it
- try white-listing MusicBee in Avast. I gather it needs to be done in two places - exclude the folder MusicBee is installed and also exclude in the behavioral analysis settings
- another solution is in the Windows Explorer properties for the MusicBee icon, set the compatibility mode to Windows 8
