Inbox can be configured to appear or disappear in the Arrange Panels->Navigator Panel settings. You can select or deselect to show it in the Navigator Panel.
I have deselected it and it disappeared as expected. Afterwards I added a test track to the Inbox and the Inbox reappeared in the Navigator Panel of all of layouts. I confirmed in Arrange Panels->Navigator Panel settings that the Inbox was not selected so now there is no way to removing it. I tried checking it, applying the settings and unchecking it and applying the settings again. It will not disappear now.
I wish Inbox to appear as a tab in one layout but I don't want to see it in every Navigator Panel layout as I do not use it in every scenario. It was working nicely this way until I added a track to the Inbox, now it doesn't obey the Arrange Panel configuration settings at all.
