Auto-playlist track group lock

My intuition is that this would be fairly easy technically but it definitely requires a new UI feature:

The idea is to have a means to put two or more songs into a unit for the purpose of auto-playlist inclusion.

By way of example, take the songs The Hellion and Electric Eye by Judas Priest. The first leads into the second, but the tracks are separate on the album; a way to have these two songs be automatically put together in sequence within a larger shuffled playlist is a feature that I've been looking for.

This could obviously also work for grouping tracks from different albums, obviously.


Can this be done with the tagging system?

Would this be implementable as a plugin? I'll be looking over the API for potential starting points.

What you're looking for is the Auto-Playlist's "shuffle by" setting. I use the grouping tag to specify tracks that I want to keep together, and the auto-playlist handles the rest!
