I've adjusted the start times of my songs in MusicBee but when I transfer the files to my phone the start times are back to default. Any way I can keep the same start & end settings on other devices besides my pc?

  • Now with FiiO M11!
That info is stored in the MB library, not in the track's metadata. So, no, I don't think so.

Since the application already has the ability to transcode lossless files to lossy on the fly for mobile syncing, would it be possible to add this as an option? Would probably involve some degredation depending on the implementation, but for mobile purposes would suit me fine.

I just discovered MusicBee and absolutely love it! I still love syncing all of my music to my phone and have a whole bunch of custom start and stop times for my live songs. Does anyone know if this has been updated or fixed?

I should mention that I'm doing a wired sync and not over wifi, though I doubt that will have any bearing on the situation. Regardless, any help would be greatly appreciated, as this music program is SO far superior to iTunes and this is the final step towards me never using that bloated program again!

"Fixed" how?  When I convert on the fly flac to MP3, it cuts the songs at my custom start and stop times.  Has been this way as long as I remember.

When you just copy your files without converting, it just copies your files, as it should.  If you really want to do this and don't mind wrecking the sound quality of your files in the process, have MB convert all files on the fly on sync.

Custom start and stop times just tell MB when to start and stop playing the file.  They don't change the file itself.  As it says two posts up from yours, it's not even in the file as metadata. It's a playback / conversion feature.
Embrace the day!

When I said "fixed" I meant if the issue of keeping the start/end times during the sync had been fixed or addressed. I totally get what you're saying that those times are just a playback setting within the program, I just wish there was a way to keep them with the song(s) during the sync.

And no, I unfortunately have no desire to degrade the quality of files by having MusicBee convert them on the fly, but I appreciate the suggestion.
