I use playlists to sync my audiobooks to my XDUOO Player (Rockbox).
That works fine for a long time.
I have some duplicates in my list so I use the playlist remove duplicates option.

But in the newer Version of MB it seems to be wrong.
This normal list will be truncated.

BEFORE:
1 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3
2 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3
3 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3
4 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3
5 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3

AFTER one

1 - Mord an der Themse - Mattthew Costello.mp3

only the first file will stay.

Is that a bug or do I wrong. I think in earlier version it works.

The function checks for duplicates based on artist and title and removes the duplicates from the playlist, leaving the first instance of the duplicate only.
Thats working as expected in my tests and not something that has been changed for a very long time

Ok, it's clear.
My music files have different titles, my audiobooks use only one title per album.
Since I use almost only music titles with Musicbee I did not notice the behavior earlier.

Thanks for explanation.

perhaps ist a good idea to combine the tracknumber into the duplicate process  8)

You could use the additional tagging & reporting tools plugin to quickly add track or track and disc number to your titles

Thanks that should fix my problem.

Maybe, there should be a dialog box before the tracks are deleted from playlist. Like at preview-window in sync-mode.

At the moment MB simply delete entries without question.
