<Genre> and <Genres> tags

In Now playing and Music tab there is no difference between this two tags. Despite the chosen option for the track info panel the displayed result is always the same. Plus in the music tab max row span doesn't affect the genres or genres tag displaying: it's always a column.

that is correct. The reason is historical and wont be changed

Oh, okay. And the max row span doesn't change anything because there is no difference between these two tags?
