Podcat basics

I am brand new to MB and have been using Itunes for podcast downloads for many years and am used to the way to use it. Select available podcasts and view the updates provided by the subscriptions, download and when I synch my ipod with music its all done at the same time. I moved my library (music and all) over and thought I had updates for podcasts over too but they did not transfer.  I just need a page or a file that will  give me the basics of how podcasts are handled in MB.
