If you are a streaming radio fan(atic) like I am and appreciate the features MusicBee brings to that arena, you're always on the lookout for new station URLs to try in your favorite genre.  Here are some good directories I have found that you can use for playing stations in MusicBee instead of the dreaded "web radio" interface:

rcast.net:  https://www.rcast.net/dir

Massive amount of stations, general station/genre/"song" search box (click the "genre" type though under any station to get more of the same).  No tricks needed to get the URL,  just click the pls/mru button under the bitrate/format display.

RadioForest:  http://www.radioforest.net/

Genre and station name searching, bitrate display, clickable "winamp" button for a pls.

MusicGoal:  https://www.musicgoal.com/radio/

Nice genre/station/"category"  search interface, pls or m3u clickable links (the winamp and vlc icons), bitrate/format display.

Internet Radio:  https://www.internet-radio.com/

Genre/station searching with clickable pls/m3u buttons, bitrate/format display. web address.

Online Radio Box:  http://onlineradiobox.com/

Enter by region, then you get a genre/station search.  Requires using the following technique to grab a direct URL (described using the Firefox browser):  1) when you find a station, right-click the arrow button ("Listen to Radio") icon that appears right of the station info, choose "Inspect Element" from context menu;  2) the stream URL appears in the highlighted area of the Inspector display;  3) right-click highlighted area and choose "Edit as HTML" from context menu, which then results in a box where you can easily select/copy/paste the URL from.  Exit the browser inspector display window by clicking the exit "X" button on the far right of the box header.

Man if that isn't enough to keep you busy, let me know where we can find more please!!  :)   Happy listening!

Good stuff.  Thanks for this.

Glad to help!  Frankz, I recall that you are also a fan of HQ streams, if you have any FLAC recommendations in any genre I hope you will post them.  Actually I think it would be great to have a pinned topic here where users could exchange their favorite station links in general.  The pool out there is so huge it helps to have personal suggestions to wade in with.

LOL I'm no expert, and I wish I had more time to experiment with the different directories like I used to.  That's why it's great that someone who has done the leg work to make themselves expert is willing to share what they've found.

Honestly, at this point I'm happy when I find something that's over 192kbps and plays music I like.  Most of the time I wind up just defaulting to listening to my SiriusXM online subscription or MusicChoice Online through my cable company.

Keep up the good work.
