I would use ASIO if only it were supported by my DAC. Unfortunately, a Class 1 USB DAC does not support ASIO. Therefore I'm using Wasapi, which works fine.

Appologies - I thought I read in your previous post that you had a Cambridge DAC but it was an amp with built-in DAC.

I'm not convinced and one mode sounds better than the other, in fact many of my recordings, even as FLAC sound pretty grim whereas many that were mastered in the 60s still sound great!
