+1 but only if the user can assign which viewer to use.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

In this form, this option is not very convenient (When the file is copied to a temporary folder):

1. Uncomfortable edit the file (since this is a copy).
2. You cannot view other images in the folder (For me this was the main thing in this request).
3. Excess load on hdd/ssd (and a small but visible delay when opening large files).

It would be nice to have the current behavior only for embedded pictures.
Sorry for my bad English.

I agree on this, and I never use this external tool option because it loads a temp file rather than the original picture.

Why not let Windows open the file directly rather than thru MB?

thats partially addressed for the next v3.3 update - a copy to the temp folder is still done for embedded images.
For linked images the original file is used when clicked from the track info panel and a few other places, but a temp file is still used when opened from some other places

It seems folder.jpg is not handled properly. When it's displayed on the track info panel, it doesn't show filename or URL on tooltip.
Also it's always opened as a temp file. If I change its filename to cover.jpg or front.jpg, then it shows on tooltip and the original file opens as expected.
