I like to have songs with multiple artists separated a semicolon because of how my mp3 player works (so Artist A; Artist B).  I had them all fixed in Media Player, but MusicBee changed them all to Artist A/Artist B, and even when I change them, it changes the back.  I do not have "auto-organise media files" selected. Have I missed another setting?

Hi, welcome to the forum!

MusicBee uses a semicolon for separating multiple values, so if you're seeing a slash, something else is causing it.

Can you show us an example?  Screenshots of the tag inspector and tag editor for a file where you see this happening would especially be useful.

This was really helpful, thank you!  I've never noticed the multiple artist splitter, so I've split a few that I know I've changed previously.  Hopefully that will fix it.  If they change again, I'll come back with screenshots.  Thanks again!

You know, I saw this today, too, but it wasn't in "Artist" it was "Album Artist."  "Artist" still had the semicolon I put there back when I tagged the files a year ago in another program, but "Album Artist" had been changed to a slash in its place.

Update: Just did a search "Album Artist" contains "/" - it's a whole lot of them.  Pretty much any album artist where I had a ; it's now a /.
