step by step for dummies???

I have not searched the forums ... yet. But I've read great reviews of this program.

Is there a step by step on how to import all my music into musicbee? My reason for asking....I was burned by iTunes several years ago and have very slowly been trying to organize my music. iTunes duplicated and moved everything around until it was a complete spaghetti mess. I finally have all my music files in one file folder. A mess...but in one place. And there are lots of duplicates. Several different formats. So, yes, i'm looking for a miracle. But before I make a new mess, thought i'd check for a checklist. I've used Simplicity to check for duplicates. But again, before I take a misstep...thought I would start here.

The wiki also has pretty good info on file organization (i know cause I added most of it), just do a search for file organization.

Based on how you describe your library, I cannot emphasize enough to leave "auto-organize media files" turned off (unchecked) under Preferences > Library.
