in every edition of MB to date the auto tagging tool "capitalise" reads roman numerals as a word as leaves them looking like so:

Iii, Ii, Xvi, etc.. when they should be  III, II, XVI respectively.

many artists self title their albums with only roman numerals to distinguish between releases (Chicago is a prime example) 

The capitalise tool is one of my favourite features and I use it a lot. hence my post about it.

You can use the Advanced Tagging & Reporting Tools Plugin to accomplish this.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Hmmm ... The more I think about your request I'm not so sure the plugin can do exactly what you want. If the Roman numerals are part of the title, the entire title will become caps. Play with it and see what you can do.
