Hi Psych Again! ;-)
I was not aware of (new?) options to modify the sort order - and till today I did not change anything.
Now I did, after I saw 'Isabelle Aubret' on the alphabetic top of my ARTIST column (

). Customized the sort order to ARTIST/TITLE, with VERY strange results:
- clicked on the ASCENDING arrow: still Isabelle on the top...
- clicked on the DESCENDING arrow: Chinese names on the top (correct, they are at the 'bottom' of the alphabetic sort list)
- clicked on the ASCENDING arrow AGAIN: correct display, starting with 'empty fields', then special characters like •, then numbers, then Aa etc...
- clicked on the ASCENDING arrow AGAIN: now a DIFFERENT Isabelle tops the list: Adjani.
In other words:
The sorting list is not consistent anymore. How come?
Even stranger is the DATE ADDED column:
- I rebuilt the whole database just before my vacation: 18.04.2017 (European calendar format)
- End of July and early August, after my vacation, I added several albums.
- But normally 18.04.2017 still remains the top of the DATE ADDED list
- If I click a few times on the ascending/descending arrows, suddenly the most recent ADDED TRACKS are displayed
- Those most recent ones are also displayed properly if I narrow the search to the name of a recently added artist or album.
- Also for this column: no consistency; different results after different clicks.
A few other strange changes appeared after my vacation - due to the newest patch?
- My number of tracks is 131.000+ but is often (not always!) displayed as 65.000+. I reported it in a separate post extensively and Steven already found a bug that he will repair.
- Several albums have been 'duplicated', that is: two occurrences of each track are displayed, but in my music folder each track is only listed ONCE. The result is that if I try to delete the duplicate album, both versions will be deleted. First I noticed only ONE false-duplicate-album, at the moment I already found THREE. One of them finally could be deleted without the twin being gone too. Rough checks however show that most albums/tracks are just displayed correctly: ONCE.
Could it be possible that all these display problems are related to the same bug in the newest patch???
I can just report what I see - do not have the skills and knowledge to analyze the cause or suggest any solution.
Others can, hopefully.
Let me know what you think,
Greetz,
Wim
