I have been syncing my iPod Classic with 2.0.4 since last April with no problems, but this week the MusicBee sync menu has started to say "The device is read-only and cannot be updated by MusicBee". I've tried restoring the iPod, running MusicBee as an administrator and using the iPod's disk mode. Is there a way to get the write permission back?

you probably need to reset the device using iTunes. Make sure its 10.0 or older as later versions can update the device firmware and stop MB from working

When I restored it using iTunes version 9, it fixed the problem temporarily. I will try again now. Thank you for the quick reply!

It's fixed now, at least to the point where I can restart the computer and reconnect the iPod without seeing the problem again. Has this happened to anyone else?
