I received an identical error to the one above in ankor's post, and applied the patch-files included in the post below. Once applied, I reopened MusicBee and repeated the same actions that had lead to the original "Unexpected Error" and received a new "Unexpected error" as below:

the errors are completely unrelated. For the portable device error i wont be able to help. The device is returning null for file filename or the parent folder id of a file referenced from a playlist when trying to retrieve playlist files

I changed my mind after i posted that and will put in some code to suppress the error. I will make that available tonight
